My wife and I bought the property on the lake with a bonus check that I got back in 1995. We used to go to the lake all of the time when there was water, but the lake has dried up and there hasn’t been any activities there in a long time. We met with the Jacksonville real estate company that was willing to give us a check within a week. I didn’t know if it was going to be possible, but we had money in our hands seven days later. We didn’t really make a lot of money on the property and all of the funds had to go to the court. The money is dispersed to our creditors and each one of them gets a slice of the pie. We didn’t have anything else of value to sell, but they tried to take everything that we had. They even made us get rid of the car and the truck. They didn’t think there was any reason for the two of us to have seven vehicles.
